Hey there, loves!Welcome to my very own blog!
My name is Alyssa, and this is my journey to a healthier lifestyle. I wish to inspire others through my own experiences so we can become healthier and happier individuals. I also feel that creating something like this and dedicating time to it will help me stay on track to reach my goals.
I do not plan for this to be one of those “Oh, look at me. I’m not struggling to look like this at all. Why don’t you listen to everything I say and you can be ‘hott’ too!” No, not at all. I want other women and men to see that even though trying to be healthy in this era is difficult, that we can make it through it… together.
I will briefly say that I have had my share of eating disorders, and although I’m only in my 20’s, it has already taken its toll on my body. I am here to fight back and give myself the body everyone deserves.
I have also recently gained knowledge about organic vs processed food. This is also meant to inspire others to embark on the “eating clean” lifestyle. I do not eat entirely “clean,” but any effort means you’re on the right track!
Fun facts: I’m from a very small town in central Pennsylvania, and now I’m living the city life in Pittsburgh. My baby is a Border Collie named Olivia, who lives with her grandparents back home since I am unable to have her in my apartment. I work full-time in a doctor’s office and help support my incredible boyfriend with his journey through Pharmacy School. I am all for traveling and going on “adventures,” even if that means driving to a new part of the city. I am also interested in learning all that I can, while I can!
The name of my blog is Flashing Life. Why did I choose that?
Well, about 5 years or so ago, I came across this quote and it changed my life:
“One day, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.” -Anonymous
I wish I knew exactly who said that, so that I would at least have someone to thank for making such a profound statement. You never want to be that person on their death bed and think, “I could have done more. I could have made a better life for myself. Now it’s wasted.” I NEVER want that to cross my mind, no matter my age.
